Shaka Surfing Academy

At Shaka Surfing Academy, we're all about providing the best waikiki surfing experiences to everyone. We are a local surf school that offers personal surfing lessons. All of our lessons are family friendly and for all ability levels.

We believe in teaching you how to surf in the most fun and relaxing way possible. Our instructors are all patient, friendly, and eager to share their passion with you. You'll learn the basics in no time and be ready for your very own wave before you know it!

About Matt

I've been teaching surfing for over 15 years. I'm certified in surf instruction and CPR, and I love the ocean—I've been surfing for 25 years!

I grew up on the Atlantic Basque Country in France, and it's no surprise that I was drawn to big waves. As a competitor for 5 years in France, I've sought out big waves all over the world.

It brings me absolute joy to teach others my passion and watch my students enjoy their experience in the water with me.

Advanced Surfing Lessons

If you are an advanced surfer, we can head to other parts of the island such as the Diamond Head or other areas in South Shore to catch bigger waves. We always adjust the location to your level of experience.
